When Can I Expect My Drafted Response?
Depending on when payment and form are submitted, generally within 24 hours (exceptions are holidays and weekends).
Who Files My Response?
We will file for you through the courts recommended E-file electronic system.
How Will I Know My Response Has Been Filed?
If we file your response, an electronic receipt will be sent to us from the courts that we will forward to you so that you have proof of filing.
After My Response Is Filed, Then What?
Once your response has been filed it can take several months before the other side responds to your response. This is greatly due to the courts being over logged with cases. In the meantime, you will be waiting to see if they respond, if at all. However, they must respond or your case can be dismissed. During this quiet period, you really want to be thinking about a settlement and how you want to resolve this matter. Going on the assumption they will prove the debt, and you are not further disputing the debt, the courts will set a hearing. This is where most people panic. Don’t. We've got you. They will give you sufficient notice. At this time you can come back to us and we can negotiate a settlement for you, keeping you from having to appear in court. It’s that simple. Please note that during this time you may have questions, but we can not advise you. However, we can refer you to an attorney that can answer your questions. We can only help to file a response and settle debt. Anything outside of these actions may require you speaking with an attorney.
Can I Get Updates on the Status of My Case?
Most courts have links online in which you can look up your case and summary of what is being filed into your case. We can help you with a link to your court. We provide that information in our initial email when you sign up for services.
Will I Be Notified of Important Dates or Deadlines?
Yes. Anytime the other side files a motion or sets a court date, you will be notified by mail. However, it is always a good idea to check in from time to time by calling the courts or looking up your case online.
Can I Settle at Any Time During This Process?
Yes. You can come to us for settlement anytime during this process. same day court response filings
